After a relatively smooth flight, we arrived in Denver around noon (half an hour early) and got a rental car, then headed out for Lone Tree, a suburb where we'd be staying. We checked in, grabbed a quick bite to eat, and then made our way to Highlands Ranch, where the family lives.
All the cousins are in town (Christopher is visiting from Fort Collins, Brandon flew in from Rendondo Beach and Haleigh lives here). Although I recently visited Brandon down south, I haven't seen the other two - or my aunt and uncle - in six years. It has been great though. I feel like my cousins have all really grown into themselves, and the little snarky chihuahua Murphy has also grown into himself...literally.
In addition to all the family, the bride's family is here as well. When Brandon went to university in Scotland he met Sylvia, and so she brought along her Scottish entourage. Last night, the whole crew went to a Colorado Rockies game (which I would have loved to do, but was functioning on 36 hours of no sleep by the time I went to bed), so we (my father, myself, my aunt and uncle and Haleigh) went out for dinner instead.
Here are two of the fellows (the bride's brother and his best friend) all set out to cheer for the Rockies and simultaneously sport their Scottish heritage.
The wedding begins in 20 minutes, so I'm off to get dressed. Also, my father and I have been dubbed the official photographs so I'll be spending most of the afternoon taking pictures and drinking Pilsner.
