We're currently sitting at SFO, about 10 minutes from boarding our first flight. Last night, Rich treated us to drinks and eats at Absinthe, and we retired shortly after midnight. Unfortunately, I don't think any of us slept too well, something I'd attribute to the combination of excitement and heat (92 degrees in San Francisco yesterday!).
This morning we got changed quickly and went out to get breakfast (pear gorgonzola on a baguette and fruit cups) and last-minute essentials (contact lens solution) and were on our way. I was super ready, but of course there was a slight delay due to a semi-tearful goodbye between the two lovebirds, who are currently texting one another with (guessing from the look on Elia's face) sentimental heartfelt expressions of whatever. Awwwww.
Our initial flight (Delta #2850) leaves at 10am and arrives in Minneapolis at 3:31pm, so three-and-a-half hours with the time zone change. We were only able to snag seats in the same row but on opposite sides, so we're hoping to convince some sucker to feel sorry for us and switch seats so we can sit together. I've charged Elia with this task, as she's much more convincing than I am...
For now, we're off.

Pear gorgonzola on a baguette with fruit ... now that's my kind of breakfast, or add wine for lunch, or as a salad with dinner. Perfect in every way. I think we'll go to Flavors tonight and sample their appetizer plates instead of going out to dinner!
